Ja. Kumari et T. Panda, ANALYSIS OF FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REGENERATION TO INTACT-CELLS FROM SPHAEROPLASTS OF SACCHAROMYCES-CEREVISIAE, Bioprocess engineering, 10(1), 1994, pp. 15-20
The regeneration of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, NCIM 3288, cells from it
s sphaeroplasts were found to be influenced by a number of factors. Th
e most suitable conditions of regeneration were also dependent on grow
th medium, that is, using malt-extract-glucose-yeast extract-peptone (
MGYP) medium: mannitol 0.7 M, pH 6.5, 30 degrees C and using yeast ext
ract-peptone-glucose (YPG) medium: sucrose 0.7 M, pH 5.0 and 30 degree
s C. The maximum regeneration frequency was observed in YPG medium.
