Abstract
The authors discuss, among other things, judicial interpretations of t he meaning of ''branch'' under the McFadden Act with respect to such b ank activities as armored car services, walk-up and drive-in facilitie s, ATMs, LPOs, accommodation services and noncore banking functions. I nterpretations by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency of ''b ranch'' under McFadden are discussed with reference to LPOs, back offi ces, messenger services, and accommodation services. Also discussed ar e bills recently introduced in Congress that would permit interstate b ranching.
