Abstract
The procurement, processing, and provision of blood components continu es to evolve and improve. New technologies and procedures for providin g more efficient and effective testing are being implemented. Innovati ve practices and processes are being applied to the preparation and tr ansfusion of blood components resulting in safer transfusion practice. Current management practice emphasizes the provision of better produc ts and service in a more cost-effective environment.
