Abstract
Immunosensors can directly transduce biological reactions into electri cal signals using paired electrodes one or both coated with the immuno reactant, thus enabling substances to be analyzed directly or indirect ly. This analytical procedure detects the first stage of agglutination , the sensitization of cells, and eliminates the necessity of evaluati ng the second stage, agglutination, and all of its variables. Positive reactions for blood group determinations can be detected within 30 se conds. A method using electronic data transfer, for determination of r ed cell antigen-antibody interaction, is imminent.
