Abstract
Terpenoids containing alpha-methylene-gamma-lactone moiety on reaction with diazomethane yield crystalline pyrazoline derivatives in quantit ative yields. These on pyrolysis yield interesting C- 1 6 lactones whi ch possess plant growth activity. The chemistry of these C- 16 lactone s alongwith revision of the structure of already reported compound (VI I) has been described.
