Quantitative analysis of several standard materials is used to evaluat
e various techniques for analysis of C-13 cross polarization magic ang
le spinning dipolar decoupling (CPMAS-DD)-NMR spectra. These results s
uggest that uncertainty in the kinetics of the initial cross-polarizat
ion process may lead to systematic errors in the fitting of CPMAS-DD-N
MR data. Methods are suggested to minimize the effects of this potenti
al source of error. These results indicate that C-13 CPMAS-DD-NMR can
give quantitatively reliable results.
