Abstract
High energy photons in ultra-relativistic nucleus nucleus collisions a t RHIC and LHC energies are discussed as a source of information on th e collision dynamics and as a signature of deconfining phase transitio n. The photon emission rates from an expanding quark gluon plasma unde rgoing transverse expansion have been evaluated.
