Urea can be sorbed by coordination (or complexation) with transitional
metal-polyacrylic acid complex and transitional metal-polyacrylamide
containing polyethylenepolyamine (-[NHCH2CH2]mNH2) ligand complexes. T
he experimental results indicate that the sorbents can sorb about 60 m
g urea per gram of sorbent at 37-degrees-C and the concentration of ur
ea was 1300.0 mg/l in NaH2PO4 and Na2HPO4 buffer solution (pH = 7.0) a
nd the urea sorption capacity was affected by many factors such as oth
er competive ligands, sorption time, pH and the concentration of urea.
