A. Zoubek et al., ONDANSETRON IN THE CONTROL OF CHEMOTHERAPY-INDUCED AND RADIOTHERAPY-INDUCED EMESIS IN CHILDREN WITH MALIGNANCIES, Anti-cancer drugs, 4, 1993, pp. 17-21
The management of chemotherapy-induced nausea and emesis presents a ma
jor problem in children with cancer. The anti-emetic properties of the
5-HT3 receptor antagonist ondansetron are well documented in adults r
eceiving cytotoxic chemotherapy. Experience in the treatment of childr
en is still limited. Here we present a review of the literature on the
anti-emetic treatment with ondansetron in children. Moreover, we prov
ide recommendations on the use of ondansetron during anti-neoplastic c
hemotherapy and radiotherapy in pediatric oncology.
