THE CALCULATION OF AVERAGE OVERALL COEFFI CIENTS OF HEAT-TRANSFER IN REGARD TO THE LOCAL AND INTEGRAL FORMULATIONS OF THE ENERGY-BALANCE

The conventional calculation of average overall heat transfer coeffici ents by using average heat transfer coefficients is inconsistent, beca use it still has resulted from the relation for the local overall heat transfer coefficient. This procedure will be corrected in regard to t he local and integral formulations of the energy balance, at which it becomes obvious, that a calculation of average overall heat transfer c oefficients is only possible in some seldom special cases. That is why a new method to determinate average overall heat transfer coefficient s without finding out the average heat transfer coefficients is propos ed.
