Abstract
In a preliminary pilot study, the authors examined the effect of a sev en-week meditation training program on 12 patients with active Crohn's disease. Nine patients completed the study. Of these nine patients, s even demonstrated a decline in the Crohn's disease activity index (CDA I). In the other two patients, the CDAI rose (Wilcoxon matched pairs s ignal ranked test, P < 0.05). No significant changes in serum orosomic oid were demonstrated. Based on these preliminary findings, the author s think a control study is warranted, and are carrying this out.
