Abstract
Neuropsychological problems are a distressing and frequent component o f the symptom complex associated with chronic fatigue syndrome. Object ive assessment of these difficulties is essential to understanding the nature of this illness. Results of the studies discussed in this pape r suggest that impaired information processing, rather than primary me mory dysfunction, may be at the root of the cognitive problems that af flict so many patients with CFS.
