Abstract
p-Nitrophenyl glycosides of 3-O-Me-beta-D-Glcp-(1 --> 3)-alpha-L-Rhap, alpha-L-Rhap-(1 --> 2)-6-deoxy-alpha-L-Talp, and 3-O-Me-beta-D-Glcp-( 1 --> 3)-alpha-L-Rhap-(1 --> 2)-6-deoxy-alpha-L-Talp have been prepare d, related to Mycobacterium avium. Various glycosylation methods have been used for the formation of the interglycosidic linkages. The p-nit rophenyl derivatives were converted into p-isothiocyanatophenyl glycos ides, capable of forming neoglycoproteins. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science L td.
