Abstract
A method is presented to estimate the diffusion of the protons along t he propagation direction in high delta n segmented proton exchanged st ripe waveguides realized on Z-cut LiNbO3. The result allows to explain the transmission curves observed at different wavelengths on segmente d proton exchanged microguides, and can serve in designing masks for s egmented guides. Loss mechanisms in the resulting structures are discu ssed.
