Ar. Jonkhoff et al., HYPOPHYSEAL NON-HODGKINS-LYMPHOMA PRESENTING WITH CLINICAL PANHYPOPITUITARISM SUCCESSFULLY TREATED WITH CHEMOTHERAPY, Journal of neuro-oncology, 17(2), 1993, pp. 155-158
A patient is described with a testicular Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL)
presenting with panhypopituitarism caused by a hypophyseal localizatio
n. A (67)Gallium scintigraphy showed avid uptake in the hypophyseal re
gion. Obviously (67)Gallium could reach the tumor, by the intravenous
route, which was the reason to treat the patient with intravenous chem
otherapy. A complete remission was induced, which seems to be lasting
(+25 months). As far as we know this is the first report of panhypopit
uitarism caused by a hypophyseal NHL in the hypophysis and successfull
y treated by intravenous chemotherapy.
