Abstract
A novel macrocyle featuring a crown ether ring, amide functionality an d a rigid biaryl unit has been prepared as a potential receptor for sm all peptidic guests. The synthesis of the macrocyle includes a palladi um catalysed biaryl formation as the ring-closing step.
