Abstract
Reactions of benzoylsilane with benzylpentacarbonylmanganese (1) give ortho-eta(2)-manganese complexes in high yield. The derived aldehyde c omplex can then be formed by fluoride-catalysed desilylation of the ac ylsilane complex. Coupling reactions of the acylsilane complexes with alkenes or alkynes are reported.
