Abstract
The possible impact origin of the Sevetin and Susice structures (Bohem ia, Czech Republic) has been tested by searching for shock metamorphis m in quartz. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) investigation reve aled microstructures originating only from tectonic deformation. No la ttice defects characteristic of shock deformation have been detected, even considering possible annealing of microstructures. An impact orig in for Sevetin and Susice is not supported by TEM study.
