Abstract
A kind of Ru(II)-Fe(II) binuclear complexes, cis-[Ru(bpy)(2)[(C10H6N2) C=N-N=CR-Fc)][(PF6)(2)], -[Ru(bpy)(2)((C10H6N2)C=N-C6H4-N=CR-Fc)][(PF6 )(2)] and bpy)(2)((C10H6N2)C=N-C6H4-C6H4-N=CR-Fc)][(PF6)(2)] have been synthesized and characterized. The redox property of the excited stat e and their quenching the luminescence of [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+) have been d iscussed through the study of the emission spectrum and the cyclic vol tammetry. The quenching mechanism of bimolecular exchange energy-trans fer was also discussed.
