Enthalpy and specific-heat measurements are reported for E-110 alloy (
Zr + 1% Nb) between room temperature and 1600 K. A thermocouple form o
f the subsecond pulse method has been developed, and an adiabatic calo
rimeter has been used with slow heating. The heating rate affects the
results. The latent heat of the alpha-beat phase transition has been d
etermined.
