Abstract
In this paper, an enhanced combined Helmholtz integral equation formul ation (CHIEF) method is applied to the boundary integral formulation i n steady-state elastodynamics to overcome the well-known nonuniqueness difficulty. This enhanced CHIEF method uses a linear combination of t he displacement boundary integral equation and the traction boundary i ntegral equation on the surface of a small interior volume as a constr aint. A so-called Green's function interpolation technique is also use d in the formulation to speed up the process of matrix formation, espe cially in a multi-frequency run. Several numerical examples are given to demonstrate this method.
