G. Zambardi et al., UTILITY OF RIBOTYPING TO EPIDEMIOLOGIC IN VESTIGATIONS OF XANTHOMONAS-MALTOPHILIA OUTBREAK IN A KIDNEY-TRANSPLANT UNIT, Medecine et maladies infectieuses, 23(12), 1993, pp. 925-928
For five months, an unusual number of Xanthomonas maltophilia strains
isolated from a kidney transplant unit was noted. Both the antibiotic
susceptibility and ribotyping patterns allowed the division of these s
trains in five clusters. The ribotyping determination showed that one
strain isolated from the condensation water of a refrigerator containi
ng organ conservating fluid, was responsible for urinary tract infecti
on in a transplanted patient.
