Abstract
Condensation polymers containing subunits of crown ether carboxylic ac id monomers are effective stationary phases for the chromatographic se paration of Y3+ and Sr2+. Th, pH range and metal loading capacities fo r the resins have been determined under equilibrium conditions. The re sin can be regenerated for repeated use without losing its separation capability. Altering the molecular structure of the monomer (sym-diben zo-16-crown-5-oxyacetic acid) by an alkyl substitution on the macrocyc lic cavity decreases the loading capacity of the resin.
