ADSORPTION OF PERTECHNETATE ON AN ANION-EXCHANGE RESIN

The adsorption behaviour of pertechnetate on the anion exchanger Dowex 1-X8 was examined as a function of the acid concentration in the chlo ride, nitrate and perchlorate solutions at constant ionic strength. Th e distribution ratio decreases with an increase in the acid concentrat ion. The distribution ratio of pertechnetate was also determined in th e hydroxide system. The distribution ratio decreases with increasing t emperature in all systems studied. At constant ionic strength, the dis tribution ratio of pertechnetate decreases in the order OH- > Cl- > NO 3- > ClO4- and the relative selectivity coefficients for these anions were also determined.
