The synthesis of bis(beta-diketonato)nitridotechnetium(V) complexes by
a single-step ligand-substitution reaction has been reported for the
first time by the reaction of TcNCl2(PPh(3))(3) with the deprotonated
beta-diketonate ligands (acetylacetonate, acac(-); benzoylacetonate, b
za(-); dibenzoylmethanate, dbm(-); dipivaloylmethanate, dpm(-)) in dic
hloromethane/methanol (3:1) solution. The complexes were purified by s
olvent extraction and column chromatography, identified by elemental a
nalyses, and characterized by uv/vis/ir spectrophotometry and paper el
ectrophoresis. Chromatographic behavior of the complexes shows that th
e lipophilicity order is TcN(dpm)(2) > TcN(dbm)(2) > TcN(bza)(2) > TcN
(acac)(2).
