RIGHTS-OF-WAY FOR FIBER OPTIC CABLES

In the context of discussions on setting up the National Information I nfrastructure and the need for transfer of various types of informatio n requiring high bandwidth at high speed, a delivery system using fibe r optic cables could turn out to be an optimum choice. Zn this article , the issues regarding rights-of-way (ROW) for laying fiber optic cabl es (FOG) with a view to seeing it as a resource to be shared are discu ssed and examples of investments made worldover are also given.
