Af. Marcilla et al., 2-PHASE AND 3-PHASE LIQUID-LIQUID EQUILIBRIUM FOR BIS(2-METHYLPROPYL)ETHER PLUS PHOSPHORIC-ACID PLUS WATER, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 39(1), 1994, pp. 14-18
Solubility and tie line data-have been measured for bis(2-methylpropyl
) ether + phosphoric acid + water at 25, 51, and 60 degrees C. This sy
stem presents a-three-phase region at temperatures greater than 49.5 d
egrees C. The extension of the two-phase region, as well as that of th
e three-phase region, increases with temperature (i.e., decreasing sol
ubility). The behavior of this system has been compared to those of di
propyl ethers (bis(1-methylethyl) ether, dipropyl ether, and 1-methyle
thyl propyl ether), showing the influence of chain branching on the ap
pearance of the three-phase region.
