Ai. Zvaigzne et We. Acree, SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALKANE PLUS 2-BUTANOL SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 39(1), 1994, pp. 114-116
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in six
binary mixtures containing e-butanol with n-hexane, n-heptane, n-octa
ne, cyclohexane, methylcyclohexane, and 2,2,4-trimethylpentane at 25 d
egrees C. Results of these measurements are used to test two mathemati
cal representations based upon the combined nearly ideal binary solven
t (NIBS)/Redlich-Kister equation and modified Wilson model. For the sy
stems studied, the combined NIBS/Redlich-Kister and modified Wilson eq
uations were found to provide very reasonable mathematical representat
ions, with deviations between experimental and back-calculated values
on the order of +/-1.5% or less.
