A process of diffraction of wave fields excited from the initial time
by a monochromatic source by a thin inclusion within a two-layer mediu
m is studied on the basis of further development of the factorization
technique. The effect of the inclusion length and its submersion depth
on scattered field intensity is analyzed. The research results taking
account of the influence of layered medium plane boundaries generaliz
e the known data(1,2) established for unrestricted media, as different
iated from analytical relationships(3,4) obtained for the stabilized c
ase for a more general model of scattering inclusion. The paper consid
ers unstabilized processes of re-reflections and determines the charac
ter of establishment of the diffracted field.
