Abstract
Increased anal canal pressure is often the cause of severe anal pain a nd results in difficulty in performing anal examinations in patients w ith anal fissure. Sublingual administration of glyceryl trinitrate (Na tispray(R)) has been shown to reduce hypertonia of the internal sphinc ter [1].
