The symmetry properties of fixed molecule photoelectron angular distri
butions in various polarization geometries are discussed, and it is sh
own how these place constraints on photoionization dynamics. We presen
t model calculations of such photoelectron angular distributions for a
generic C-3v molecule, for limiting choices of photoionization dynami
cs. Finally, we show how these results help us to interpret the result
s of photoelectron-photoion coincidence (PEPICO) experiments.
