A. Hagfeldt et al., VERIFICATION OF HIGH EFFICIENCIES FOR THE GRATZEL-CELL - A 7-PERCENT EFFICIENT SOLAR-CELL BASED ON DYE-SENSITIZED COLLOIDAL TIO2 FILMS, Solar energy materials and solar cells, 31(4), 1994, pp. 481-488
Dye-sensitized colloidal TiO2 film electrodes using a Ru(bpy)-complex
were used as photoanodes in photoelectrochemical solar cells. The cell
s were prepared following the description by Gratzel and coworkers. An
overall light-to-electric energy conversion efficiency of 7% in 1000
W/m2 light from an ELH lamp was obtained. Practical problems in the pr
eparation procedure of the solar cell module has so far made long time
stability tests impossible. Future developments of the cell are discu
ssed.
