Objective-To review the presentation and clinical findings of arthriti
s associated with hidradenitis suppurativa. Method-Medical records fro
m the rheumatology clinics of two major teaching hospitals were review
ed for arthritis and hidradenitis suppurativa. The nine patient record
s fulfilling these criteria were reviewed and compared with 20 previou
s reports. Results and conclusion-The arthritis associated with hidrad
enitis suppurativa is rare and most commonly affects the peripheral jo
ints. The axial skeleton is less frequently involved and is often asym
ptomatic.
