R. Chakraborty et M. Srinivasan, PRODUCTION OF A THERMOSTABLE ALKALINE PROTEASE BY A NEW PSEUDOMONAS-SP BY SOLID SUBSTRATE FERMENTATION, Journal of Microbial Biotechnology, 8(1), 1993, pp. 7-16
Parameters for the production of a thermostable alkaline protease by s
olid substrate fermentation from a new Pseudomonas sp. B45 have been o
ptmized. The organism could elaborate enzyme production on coarse whea
t bran medium maximally at 96h when the initial moisture content was m
aintained at 74%. The organism could produce stable enzyme in alkaline
environment (pH 8.3 - 8.8). Retention of enzyme activity upto 96% as
observed when the wheat bran biomass was dried at 65-degrees-C.
