Abstract
Using the action written in the Einstein conformal frame and Vilenkin' s tunneling boundary conditions, the wave function of the universe is found in a semiclassical region. From the probability distribution obt ained from that wave function, the initial values of the dilatonic fie ld and the inflation field are investigated.
