Abstract
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been proven to aid in the early d etection and diagnosis of parenchymal infections of the brain. Pyogeni c brain abscess, herpes encephalitis, Listeria rhombencephalitis, and Rasmussen's syndrome are examined in this article. Imaging characteris tics, epidemiology, clinical presentations, therapies, and pathologic findings are discussed.
