Abstract
We have examined the effects of a variety of vasoactive agents and gro wth factors on phosphatidylinositide turnover and DNA synthesis in cul tured retinal capillary pericytes. A complex correlation between phosp hatidylinositide turnover and DNA synthesis varied with different agon ists. The resulting data indicate that phosphatidylinositide turnover is not the sole signaling pathway, and there must be multiple signalin g pathways involved in pericyte mitogenesis.
