Abstract
The thermal reaction of Fe-2(CO)(9) with dibenzylideneacetone in boili ng diethyl ether gives the dinuclear yellow-orange air-stable mu-(eta( 2),eta(2)-dibenzylideneacetone)Fe-2(CO)(8) (I). The structure of the c omplex was determined by IR,H-1 NMR, and C-13 NMR spectroscopy, and X- ray crystallography.
