Abstract
We investigated the possible relationship between schizophrenia, neuro leptic treatment, and platelet monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity. Plate let MAO activity was similar in neuroleptic-naive schizophrenic patien ts and healthy controls and was not affected by chronic (1O-week) perp henazine treatment. A relationship between platelet MAO activity and c entral disturbances in schizophrenia remains uncertain.
