Abstract
The experiment RETE was part of the payload of the mission TSS-1 flown with the Shuttle STS-46 in August 1992. In this paper we first give a brief description of the experiment and the measurements it allowed t o perform. Some results are then presented on satellite charging, curr ent in the tether and wave excitations in the satellite vicinity. Alth ough preliminary, these data clearly point out the type of scientific investigations that will be possible with such measurements.
