A VECTOR DRIVING THE EXPRESSION OF FOREIGN CDNAS IN THE MHC CLASS II-POSITIVE CELLS OF TRANSGENIC MICE

We describe a plasmid vector that drives the expression of foreign cDN As in transgenic mice, according to the dictates of an MHC class II ge ne promoter. Using this vector, we have often obtained mRNA and protei n synthesis with a tissue and cell-type specificity indistinguishable from that of the endogenous MHC class II genes.
