Jf. Chen et al., EXTRACTION AND SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF ND(III), TH(IV) AND U(VI) IN SYNTHETIC BRINE USING CHLOROPHOSPHONAZO-III, Analytica chimica acta, 284(3), 1994, pp. 593-597
A simple method has been developed to determine micromolar concentrati
ons of Nd(III), Th(IV) and U(VI) in brine. The method involves the ext
ractive separation of these cations from brine matrix species by using
Chlorophosphonazo III as extractant with I-butanol as solvent, and th
e spectrophotometric determination of the concentration of extracted s
pecies in the butanol phase. The lowest concentrations that could be d
etermined are estimated to be 5x10(-7) M for Nd(III) and 2x10(-7) M fo
r Th(IV) and U(VI).
