Binary and modified transition-metal-oxide (TMO) tellurite (V2O5-TeO2,
MoO3-TeO2 and WO3-TeO2) glasses have been prepared by the method of r
apid cooling. Dc conductivity measurements, on 20TMO-80TeO(2) (TMO=V2O
5, MoO3 and WO3) glasses in the temperature range 300 K to 450 K and o
n (50 - x)V2O5-xMoO(3)-50TeO(2) (x = 0, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0 and 5.0) glasses
in the temperature range 77 K to 400 K, have been performed. The resu
lts are discussed in the light of physical and structural models. The
influence of the TMO in binary TMO-tellurite glasses and of the modifi
er (MoO3) in (50 - x)V2O5-xMoO(3)-50TeO(2) glasses, is discussed in de
tail.
