Abstract
A 48 year old woman was admitted with eyelid and peripheral edema. Uri nalysis revealed nephrotic-range proteinuria; other studies disclosed selective IgA deficiency. Kidney biopsy was normal apart from slight e xpansion oi the mesangial matrix; no tubulointerstitial or vascular ch anges were observed; by immunofluorescence no deposits were seen. Edem a and proteinuria resolved spontaneously in ten days. We make some com ments about glomerulopathies and IgA deficiency.
