Jm. Cruzado et al., GRANULOCYTE-COLONY-STIMULATING FACTOR AS A TREATMENT OF LEUKOPENIA INA RENAL-TRANSPLANT RECIPIENT, Nefrologia, 13(6), 1993, pp. 588-591
We report a 45 yeard-old man who received a renal transplantation 30 m
onths ago under immunosuppressive therapy with cyclosporin A, azathiop
rine and prednisone. Allopurinol was started because of hyperuricemia
with gouty crisis, and a proportional decrease of azathioprine dose wa
s not implemented. Two months later the patient developed pancytopenia
secondary to medullary hypoplasia. We describe the rapid recovery of
neotrophil blood count under treatment with granulycyte-colony-stimula
ting factor. No infectious complication was detected throughout the fo
llow-up.
