Abstract
Thermal properties of blends containing poly(vinyl chloride) and carba zole or potassium carbazole in different molar ratios were investigate d using thermogravimetric analysis coupled with Fourier transform infr a-red spectroscopy. The effect of additives on the polymer degradation process, and especially on the evolution of hydrogen chloride, was st udied. Finally, mechanisms of stabilization were proposed.
