F. Fervenza et al., ACUTE-RENAL-FAILURE DUE TO POSTINFECTIOUS GLOMERULONEPHRITIS DURING PREGNANCY, American journal of kidney diseases, 29(2), 1997, pp. 273-276
Acute renal failure is a rare but potentially devastating complication
of pregnancy. Among its many potential causes is acute postinfectious
glomerulonephritis. We describe a case of acute renal failure during
pregnancy, provide the histologic features of the renal biopsy, and di
scuss the differential diagnosis. Postinfectious glomerulonephritis ca
n present rapidly after clinical infection and cause acute renal failu
re in pregnancy. (C) 1997 by the National Kidney Foundation, Inc.
