Abstract
Acute renal failure is a rare but potentially devastating complication of pregnancy. Among its many potential causes is acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis. We describe a case of acute renal failure during pregnancy, provide the histologic features of the renal biopsy, and di scuss the differential diagnosis. Postinfectious glomerulonephritis ca n present rapidly after clinical infection and cause acute renal failu re in pregnancy. (C) 1997 by the National Kidney Foundation, Inc.
