Abstract
A semi-empirical formula is presented which gives a semi-quantitative account of the excitation energies in Lambda-hypernuclear excitation s pectra. Many elaborate studies made were numerical, but our studies yi eld an analytical expression. Different three-dimensional harmonic osc illators for the Lambda- and the neutron-hole reproduce the observed e nergy spacings fairly well. However, it would be misleading that the o scillators give the wave functions of the corresponding states also. I n the light of harmonic excitations, we briefly discuss some phenomeno logical and microscopic Lambda-hypernuclear calculations.
