Research provides evidence that outcomes of infant day-care are relate
d to child care quality and other conditions. The current study reveal
s correlations between infants' and toddlers' behaviour and well-being
in center-based day care with aspects of mother's life situation and
her separation anxiety. Multiple regression analysis indicates, that n
egative aspects of mother's life situation and caregiver's attitude to
infant day-care are predictors of the quality of relationship to the
child's mother as perceived by care-givers. The child's health status
appears to be mediated by the quality of caregiver-mother relationship
.
