Abstract
Methods of transferring Ti-14.7% Al-22% Nb titanium-base intermetallid e to a superplastic state are established. The optimum alloy deformati on schedule for producing a microduplex type structure is determined. Deformation of the alloy with laminated structure causes transformatio n to a granular structure associated with attributes of superplastic f low. the characteristic structural changes during superplastic deforma tion are determined and the effect of working the alloy in superplasti c state on its mechanical properties is examined.
